Scooty stays committed to its mission, which is to contribute to a greener and smarter environment every day.
Today, Belgium, together with its neighbors, is one of the most polluted regions in the world due to nitrogen dioxide (NO2). In addition, more than 25% of greenhouse gas emissions come from the transports sector.
Nearly 370,000 cars circulate daily in Brussels and the traffic jam has grown by 35% in 5 years time. According to the Brussels authorities, cars are parked 97% of the time and 1/3 of the traffic in residential areas of the capital is caused by the search for a parking space. In addition, it is estimated that almost 80% of EU citizens will live in cities by 2020, which will put an increasing pressure on the city’s environment.
With its free-float electric scooters, Scooty is committed to keep fighting against congestion and pollution in our cities. Scooty wants to show the way forward and that is why we are launching our Growing Tree Initiative this Winter.
On December 1st, we will set the counter at zero. In cooperation with several schools of horticulture around Brussels and Antwerp, we will plant a young tree every time the we reach 10,000 new rides.
So, choose for Scooty and help us contribute to a greener environment!
